Even though the weather outside is still frightful, NOW is the time to starting planning for the upcoming spring & summer.
Have you been doing everything you thought you were supposed to: running regularly, logging in the miles, eating right, and participating in local road races only to find that you're not getting any faster? Have you plateaued? What's the problem? Chances are you're spending all of your time on distance and not doing any speedwork.
This 10-week program is a great way to head into the upcoming spring and summer season strong as we focus on both mileage AND speed so that your next race will result in a personal best for you. We have structured the program to accommodate all distances, whether your goal is a 5K or a marathon. Our once weekly workout will have an increased focus on pacing. We will also employ hill repeats, tempo runs, speed work and various speed drills throughout Central Park.
This program is open to individuals of all abilities but we recommend folks coming into the program already be able to comfortably run a 5K/3.1 miles.
When/Where: This class meets Wednesdays from 6:45-7:45pm starting March 21st thru May 23rd and workouts will take place in Central Park. Bag Drop will be available at our Time Warner/Columbus Circle location.
