Swim II picks up after Swim I (though you needn't have taken Swim I!) by helping you refine your technique, and develop the endurance to maintain good technique for longer and longer swims. Each week we will create a different workout with drills for form and long distance swims to develop endurance. This class deals solely with the FREESTYLE/CRAWL stroke. Folks looking to participate should be able to comfortably swim 200 yards of the freestyle/crawl stroke without rest.
Each week we will create a different workout with drills for form and long distance swims to develop endurance. You'll spend time learning to pace, with the goal of maintaining consistent times over multiple intervals, even as you become fatigued. In addition, we will provide a workout for you to do on your own so you improve fitness and feel for the water in-between classes. At the end of this class you'll feel much more capable of long continuous swims without feeling like you need a rest. Persons considering participation in this class need not have taken Swim I but should be able to breathe easily while comfortably swimming 200 yards in the freestyle/crawl stroke.
When/Where: This 10-week program meets every Monday evening from 8-9:00pm starting September 28th at Seahorse Fitness located at 69 Columbia St starting September 28th.
