Swim I : This program is for anyone who wants to be a better swimmer. The goal of this course is to go through all elements of the swim stroke (freestyle/crawl) to help you become as efficient as possible. In addition, the coach will provide one or two workouts and drills for you to do on your own so you maintain a good feel for the water in between classes.
Each week we will focus on a different part of the stroke with drills and exercises, then combine those skills with lap swims focused on technique. In addition, we will provide one or two workouts and drills for you to do on your own so you maintain a good feel for the water in-between classes. At the end of this class you'll feel much more comfortable in the water, much more in control of your swimming, and much, much faster.
Folks looking to participate in this program MUST already be able to comfortably swim 2 lengths of the pool in some semblance of the freestyle/crawl stroke (regardless of speed, or lack thereof) and be able to tread water.
When/Where: This 10-week program meets Tuesday evenings from 8:30-9:30pm at the Berkeley Carroll Athletic Facilitybat 762 President St from May 3rd through July 12th. There will be no class May 31st.
