ON CLOUD X – FIRST LOOK: WOMEN’S REVIEW

AVAILABLE NOVEMBER 2nd 2017

Given that On just released a running shoe for those of you that might not identify as runners, we had two of our own fitness fanatics kick around the rubber and provide their thoughts. Women’s review below. Men’s review located here.

A SHOE FOR YOUR LIFE + STYLE

Showcasing an impressive sleek design, the Cloud X comes in appealing color schemes that On running shoes are becoming known for. Don’t be fooled, however, into thinking this is simply a lifestyle shoe. This shoe is SO much more than that. For non runners, the Cloud X will become your go-to shoe for all your fitness needs.

I started by taking these for a test run/walk with my dog, Cooper. In a short two-mile walk, I had already received several compliments about how great the Cloud X looked. Of course, I love a fashion-forward shoe, but the big win from this experience was how versatile the shoes were on my adventure. The striking colors of red and coral, with a touch of blue, were just an added bonus!

With the sun setting earlier, I find myself walking my dog in the dark more often. Not only does the Cloud X come in stand-out colors, it’s also equipped with reflective detail on all sides of the shoe to help keep me visible during daylight savings time.

Lifting in On

RUNNING. REMIXED.

As a dog mom, group fitness fanatic, and light runner, the Cloud X is the perfect athletic shoe to support my active lifestyle. The shoe moved effortlessly regardless of what workout I was doing. The flexible mesh accommodates several types of activities and enhances the functionality of these cross-training shoes.

Orangetheory Fitness is a dynamic group class workout that continues to challenge me, so I challenged the Cloud X through one of these difficult classes. The typical Orangetheory class consists of three 15-minute intervals consisting of running, circuit training, and rowing.

Although the Cloud X is used primarily for my cross-training, they are still a reliable running shoe for short distances. The new speed board helped transform my energy into a forward motion which got me through the 15-minute running section of my Orangetheory workout.

Circuit training has always been the most difficult part for me, but the Cloud X guided me through a variety of movements by keeping me grounded with a firm stance, allowing me to focus on my form.

One thing I noticed while rowing was the lean heel cap keeping my foot firmly in place while I executed the rowing motion. The heel cap on the Cloud X sits slightly higher than other On running shoes. I recommend getting a few pairs of performance socks that include a heel tab before purchasing this shoe. With the right socks, you won’t even notice the difference from previous On styles.

ANY ACTIVITY, ANYTIME

Not every running shoe store carries these one-of-a-kind shoes, but JackRabbit has you covered. Regardless of how you choose to move, the Cloud X will be there to support you through your daily routine and even your toughest workouts. On running shoes continue to innovate and provide the active lifestyle consumer top of the line shoes that look great and perform even better.
