Have you done several 5K and 10K races and are ready to taking your running to the next level? If so, our Half-Marathon training program is a great next step in your progression as a runner, and a fun new challenge. The schedule of this program makes it a great fit for three local races: Grete's Great Gallop Half Oct 2nd, Staten Island Half Oct 9th, and Hamptons Half Oct 1st.
The twice weekly workouts for this class meet in Central Park and are geared toward those fit individuals who would like to complete their first half-marathon as well as those experienced with this distance who would like to set a PR. Because this program is 10 weeks, we require that participants MUST be able to comfortably run 5 miles by the first class. We will work with you to hone your existing running and fitness skills with emphasis on pace and increased endurance. In addition to our twice weekly group workouts is an online component which is provided weekly with what's happening in class as well as your suggested in-between class homework. Ample time is given to event preparation so that you have a successful and positive race day.
Where/When: The class will meet at our Time Warner Center location Wednesdays@6:45pm and Saturdays@8:30am starting Wednesday, August 3rd. There will be no class Saturday, September 3rd in honor of the Labor Day holiday. You can drop off your bags during class and restrooms and changing rooms are available.
