WHAT'S NEW WITH THE BROOKS ADRENALINE GTS 19
The Adrenaline GTS 19 is the first shoe to feature Brooks’ new GuideRails holistic bilateral support system that keeps the heel in place and reduces heel eversion that leads to knee issues.
The GuideRails are a result of
Run Signature, Brooks’ biomechanics paradigm that begins with the understanding that there is no singular right way to run but instead that every individual has a unique way of running and that the body will perform at its best
when footwear works with an individual’s unique motion path. Essentially, the GuideRails allow the updated version of the Adrenaline GTS to adapt to individual gait styles.
Brooks is so confident in the GuideRails system
that it has been promoting it as a shoe that will help save your knees by reducing the excessive motion that starts in the ankle and goes up the kinetic chain. It published a white paper on the development of its GuideRails system
and came to the conclusion was that all runners can ultimately benefit from some level of support to keep them running in their Natural Habitual Joint Motion path.
The rear portion of the midsole has been updated with
a new DNA Loft foam—a compound made with a blend of air and rubber—for a lighter, softer and bouncier sensation in the heel.
Lastly, a new engineered mesh upper on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 provides better breathability
and a more dialed-in fit.

An amply padded heel collar and tongue, combined with a premium sockliner under foot, make for a comfortable interior feel when you lace them up but also in the latter miles of a long run. Our wear-testers
say the midsole blends the right amount of softness with the right amount of resiliency for smooth, efficient stride turnover.
The key to this shoe is the guiderail system that cradles each side of the heel and works
like bumpers on a bowling alley to promote forward motion to make sure a runner’s stride remains as efficient as possible.
The guidance is subtle—there isn’t an abrupt controlling sensation—but very effective.
WHO'S IT BEST FOR?
The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 is the shoe for runners who excessively overpronate and need significant foot guidance will benefit from this shoe as an everyday trainer.
PROS AND CONS OF THE BROOKS ADRENALINE GTS 19
Our wear-testers liked the Brooks Adrenaline a lot for long runs and recovery runs. They all gave it high marks for cushioning, comfort and energy return and how delicate the gait-enhancing control felt for such a significantly supportive
The outsole has been updated with wavy flex grooves in the for more optimal forefoot flexibility as the foot transitions to the toe-off phase.
The only real detraction to the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 is that it lacks agility and the ability for fast-cadence running.
It’s not a bulky or overly heavy shoe, it’s just that the sweet spot is found in consistent cruising
at moderate paces.
