Even though the weather outside is still frightful, Spring will be here before long and NOW is the time to make a plan to reach your personal health and fitness goals! This program begins where Running Level I leaves off (although you needn't have participated in Level I to join!). In this fun and challenging 10 week program, we will meet twice per week and begin very slowly as we progress toward our goal of running a local road race.
We recommend that you already be able to run 2.0 miles continuously, regardless of pace. Increased attention will be given to improved endurance and understanding the importance of pacing. Our group workouts provide you with a safe, positive and supportive environment in which to take your fitness to the next level as we work toward our goal of running 6 miles continuously by program completion. We will provide online guidance and direction in the form of structured workouts/'homework' for you to do in between our regular group meetings. Towards the end of class we will select a local road race in which to participate. There is no obligation to participate in the goal race but we like to use it as extra motivation throughout the program and we will of course be with you on race day for support and encouragement.
ALL of our classes are held outdoors and we run in the rain, snow, and whatever temperature mother nature throws our way, and we promise to make it fun!
