WHAT'S NEW: ASICS GEL KAYANO 27

The ASICS GEL Kayano 27 has been overhauled with three key changes to create a more stable, more dynamic and more comfortable experience.   

2020 updates include a sturdier external heel counter, gender-specific support
in the undercarriage, deeper flex grooves in the forefoot of the outsole and a more breathable engineered mesh upper.  

One of the key updates to this edition of the Kayano is the gender-specific Trusstic support system
embedded in the undercarriage. It’s specifically tuned to the slightly different men’s and women’s foot shapes, movement patterns and stability needs. 

The outsole on the ASICS GEL Kayano 27 has five segments of high-abrasion
carbon rubber in the heel for durability and four sections of lighter, blown rubber compound in the forefoot separated by deep flex grooves for optimal responsiveness, agility and flexibility.

The ASICS GEL Kayano is one of best-fitting and most comfortable everyday training shoes available for overpronating runners with low to flat arches. With a cozy interior, soft, wide tongue, contoured footbed and slightly wider toe
box, the fit is better than ever for runners with narrow to medium feet.

The upper on the ASICS GEL Kayano 27 helps contributed to a dialed-in fit by maintaining its structure as it adapts to the shape and volume of
a runner’s foot throughout the stride cycle. The enhanced, dual-density midsole on the Kayano serves up plush cushioning, responsiveness and stability for long runs, plus a little bit of energetic pop for moderately fast tempo
runs.

The ride is extremely stable and secure, but it doesn’t feel controlling or inflexible.

Pros: ASICS GEL Kayano 27

The new engineered upper is more breathable and more dynamic than the previous edition, allowing it to adaptively secure a wide variety of foot shapes through the specific movements
of the gait cycle.

The angular perforations open and close slightly to increase air flow and breathability to wick moisture away from a runner’s feet.

The Kayano has a relatively high heel-toe offset compared
to a lot of other shoes (10mm for men, 13mm for women), but that allows it to have a split personality with a soft, cushy feeling in the heel and a low-to-the-ground sensation in the forefoot.

The Kayano is slightly heavier than some contemporary training shoes and it carries a higher price tag than many shoes. But you definitely get what you pay for!
